Dreams and aspirations know no bounds.

Coming from a middle-class family, I was born in a village in UP (Uttar Pradesh) and soon shifted to a city for better access to education and lifestyle. I vividly remember being a kid and wanting to become a scientist; it felt as if the cosmic energies drove me towards it. Although my passion for it didn’t die as I grew up, I found myself naturally attracted to the tech industry.

It was when I had my first computer that my desire to explore the science behind everything tech was satiated. After finishing college, I realized that I didn’t have real-world tech experience or coding knowledge that was essential to fetch me a job, so I began learning independently with the help of YouTube and Google.

A Great Cosmic Timing

“Everything will be okay in the end; if it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”
This quote is a substantial motivator that helps me during the times I feel distressed. I have always aspired to be the best version of myself. As per my experience, I believe that one must never give up on anything.

However, there are times in life when you feel like you can’t do it and it feels impossible for you to keep going. That’s the time when you have to strive hard and move forward consistently. If you survive that phase, then no one can stop you from achieving what you want.

During my graduation days, I did some non-technical jobs because of which I felt stuck and directionless. I wasn’t doing what I deeply loved and at that point, I decided to learn coding on my own and upskill myself to become tech-ready. It was around this time that I came across Girl Power Talk.

When I first heard and read about Girl Power Talk, I was impressed by its unique work culture and its vision. It wasn’t too late before I thanked my stars and applied to be a web developer. What truly stands out about this place are the people and the comforting work environment.

Committing to a Purpose

This is my first job as a web developer, and I must admit that the initial phase was a bit overwhelming for me, but it didn’t deter my focus because I am truly dedicated to my field of interest. I would say it was my passion for learning and solving problems that kept me going—learning and practicing. In my opinion, learning is a never-ending process.

Today, work-from-home jobs are all the rage, with a majority of employees choosing to work from the comfort of their homes. Or is it a fancy way of getting too comfortable in your own space?

I almost got trapped in the bait of a work-from-home opportunity from another company until Sudhanshu Batra, the COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Girl Power Talk, informed me about my selection at Girl Power Talk.
If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living. It was a tough call to move out of my comfort zone, but I am grateful that I took that step.

You are nothing without a purpose, which is what I realized when I got the opportunity to speak to one of the co-founders of Girl Power Talk, Sameer Somal. My motivation and zeal doubled when he enlightened me about the very purpose behind what they do. I believe the credit for much of my growth here goes to the dynamic environment and sheer energy that this place holds. Its inherent positivity encourages me to give my 200%.

Today is the Best Time to Start

“The best time was yesterday; another best time is now.”
When I was 17, I got my first phone, and that started my journey of self-learning. I was always curious to know what exactly the Internet is, how it works, how websites actually function, and how the whole new world manages to exist in just a few inches of screen. I began exploring it and got into the field of tech and coding while simultaneously pursuing my graduation.

Honestly, I feel I haven’t achieved much in my life yet, but I’m committed to continuously growing my level of expertise in the field of web development. I also wish to explore other domains like Android and iOS development, data science, AI (artificial intelligence), and other emerging technologies.

The Ultimate Learning Never Stops

The idea behind the organization intrigues me and has caused a wave of change in the way I perceive working for my passion. In a nutshell, I have come to terms with realizing that working from the office is a better way to outgrow yourself and shine in your respective fields. I am pretty sure that I would have become lazy otherwise.

It is quite ironic that we sometimes fear our own growth and aren’t able to make decisions that may be good for us. While I applied to a zillion companies, it didn’t make me uncomfortable, which I believe was important to cause a shift within me. It is undoubtedly a huge sign of growth.

Compared to last year, I am much more confident in presenting myself than ever before. Whether it is web development or my communication skills, I see a new version of myself today for whom work has attained a new meaning.

Conclusion:

Ultimately, Ajay’s story is a testament to the fact that embracing discomfort, taking risks, and being open to change are the keys to unlocking one’s true potential.
