Daphne E. Jones
Daphne E. Jones is an accomplished and seasoned executive with extensive experience using digital technologies strategically, entrepreneurially, and globally within multi-national corporations. Her leadership drove strategy, cost improvement, access to actionable insights, and customer loyalty. She has over thirty years of experience in general management and executive level roles at IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Hospira (now Pfizer) and General Electric. During her tenure at GE, she served as: SVP for Future of Work, SVP & CIO for Product Engineering, Imaging, and Ultrasound, and as Senior Executive & CIO For Global Services – all comprising a $13B segment within GE Healthcare.Prior to GE Healthcare, after receiving her B.S. and MBA at Illinois State University her early career days were spent at IBM and Johnson & Johnson as an IT Executive followed by her role as a Corporate Officer, SVP & CIO at Hospira, Inc. a $5B global pharmaceutical and infusion technology company. She was accountable for all aspects of Hospira’s enterprise, digital, cyber & analytics technology. A driver of change acceleration and leadership development, her career has been spent using digital technologies to transform business models, distribution channels and products. For example, Daphne’s team utilized strong business partnerships and technology to drive global R&D capabilities that improved ‘mean time to revenue’ of new pharmaceutical products. She led teams using AI and Digital Twin to enable predictive maintenance for MRI’s and CT’s for GE Healthcare.
She has expertise in Global Process Improvements, Connecting the Enterprise (ERP), Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, Machine Learning/AI, Change Management and is Climate Change Certified. Daphne’s contemporary experience and thought – leadership helps bolster company innovation globally, enabling business transformation across major industries.
Daphne serves on the board of directors for AMN Healthcare, Inc., (NYSE: AMN) serving on the audit committee and nominating & governance committee. Daphne previously served on the boards of Masonite International and The Barnes Group. The board of Masonite International, approved the acquisition of Masonite in 2024 by Owens Corning. The board of The Barnes Group approved the acquisition of Barnes in Feb 2025 by Apollo Capital. Her experience in governance includes CEO and Board Chair succession, Activist Investors, M&A (buy side & sell side) She is a ‘go to’ authority on how to prepare individuals for corporate board service. She serves as CEO of The Board Curators, http://www.theboardcurators.com, where she and her team curate senior executives to be board ready, in order to democratize board access to overlooked yet highly capable leaders. She is dedicated to empowering the under served, and improving diversity in board rooms and corporations.
She has been named 2025 Fellow by ITSMF (Information Technology Senior Management Forum; and has been named by Director & Boards Magazine as a 2024 ‘Director to Watch’. In February 2023, she was recognized by Fortune Magazine as being one of the trailblazing black executives that is changing the future of business. She was a Savoy Top Black Corporate Director in 2022 and 2024.
Other notables include her being named a Premier 100 CIO by Computerworld. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), National Speaker Association, Executive Leadership Council (ELC), International Women’s Forum (IWF), The Digital Directors Network (DDN), and Information Technology Senior Manager Forum (ITSMF).
In addition to her impressive career, Jones is also an author, having recently published her first book, "WIN WHEN THEY SAY YOU WON’T: Break Through Barriers and Keep Leveling Up Your Success" (McGraw Hill, November 2022), which draws from her own personal story of rising from poverty to senior executive leadership despite many obstacles in her way.
